CHAPTER 8-THE BEDLAM BIZ

It was almost the final phase of the game , John's parents felt he was queer.Its just because they have never seen him watching neither TV nor cricket but having his public exam the next day he showed no tension but equanimity watching the worldcup finals..John smelled his parents flavor,but then silently he continued wat he was doin.Almost 35 overs have gone,but india was making headway,which created more tautness in John's mind.To avoid tautness to a greater extent,he quit watchin the match and decided to revise his portions so that he can come back and watch the rest of the match after a hour of sincer final preparation for his next days exam.It was almost 8PM so his parents called him for dinner."hmmm just now i came to study ,but u r calling me immediately"buzzed John,saying so he continued his revision..John's dad approached him askin wats wrong with him,why is he not serious enough in preparing for his exams..??? John managed to convince Mr.Wilson.He then moved over for his dinner,simultaneously tuned to the sports channel watching out for any improvement in australia's side.Wow sachin got out and 2 more wickets also gone in a short span !!! Switching off the TV john left the hall and went to his couch.

The first light of the dawn beamed into John's eyes,with a hope for a gud news about the previous days final match he switchd on the TV,the first news that flashed upon his eyes was that India lost the World cup..John's felt very relaxed and satisfied with that news.With a new hope and with a superstitious belief happily got ready for the first day exam.John's Parents felt the cheerfulness again in John,they felt happy that john facing the exam with full confidence, they also discussed with themselves "John is confident Becoz he has prepared well itseems,john's dad exclaimed to his wife -"did u notice John was so confident,that he just revised only for a hour for todays exam .that means he had mastered the subject i guess" Innocent parents didnt understand that John was completely hooked on luck.

His examination center was in da middle of the town ,which was about 3 kms south from his house.As soon as he reached his destination he looked for his maths teacher in oceam of students standing around him. He once spotted her and greeted her with a warm morning wish and in his excitation he declared that he ll definitely pass in her subject as India lost its final chance to win the cup.But he was immediately smashed down with a angry tone " because of that alone u ll never pass, u have to put in your own effort from u r part to pass... did u atleast prepare the graphs and the theorems that i ve asked u to ??? asked his maths teacher ,even though he didnt prepare he didnt want to get unnecessary objurgations he calmly said "yeah ofcourse madam i did "

John heard the distant toll of church bell from the nearby church,30mins later the exam bell also rang announcing the entrance of the exam..only 30 min left out to see his fate in the name question paper.JOhn stood stunned thinking "did i make any mistake by wasting the time without preparing the last night???, but his conscious said "its now to late to think about it,so lets proceed with confidence and face anything and everything,There is no alternate though"Lost in thought John stood still all alone..."Aren't you coming?"Jones asked, surprised to see him still standing where he had left him. He shook his head, ashamed of what he had to tell him."i seriously didnt prepare well-said john to jones" the peak hour crowd had eaten, giving the ground a deserted look.John was a bit tensed to see the that the people were gone.Slowly John started of his foot,walking towards his exam hall...for John his exam room was like a sullen hall... But John had a comfortable seat beneath a wide open Dutch window,the exam center was located near the Three Mile Bay,so from his desk John could see the waves kissing the shore.It was a excellent scenery.On seeing that John's mind calmed down a moment he regained his confidence.Even though he had a tough time with his first and second exam,John performed really well with the other subjects that too he was pretty sure in getting 1st mark in science.

Days and nights of hard work flew,Exams too..John was happy with his performance and was waiting to reap the fruits of his hardwork."i've done my best, u r's is the rest,"Uttered John while he prayed to god every day.
