Exploring the Enchanting Landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh: A Week-Long Itinerary

Day 1

Thursday, February 22, 2024 - Chennai to Guwahati

The adventure kicks off as we step aboard our INDIGO flight bound for Guwahati from Chennai, scheduled to depart at 9:45 PM and land at 12:20 AM. With the perks of my HDFC Tata Neo Infinity card, I enjoyed access to the lounge, indulging in a satisfying dinner before our flight. Despite a one-hour delay, I made the most of the time, strolling up and down the airport until we finally boarded, eager to begin our journey to the mystical landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh.

Day 2 -

Friday, February 23, 2024 - Guwahati to Dirang

Rise & Shine. Our adventure commences with a flight from Guwahati to Tezpur (Assam) scheduled for 9:35 AM, followed by a picturesque drive to Dirang. However, upon our arrival in Guwahati to board the Tezpur flight, which was initially set for departure at 9:30 AM the following day, we found ourselves in a waiting game throughout the night. The airport seemed deserted, with only the staff present( Thereare no flight services between 12 to 3am) . It was not until the early hours of the morning that we received the disheartening news of a 3-hour delay in our connecting flight. This unexpected turn of events cast uncertainty over our entire day's plan. Despite the challenges, we remained optimistic, ready to adapt and make the most of our upcoming adventure.Until 10:30 AM, we remained in a state of uncertainty, grappling with the sudden announcement of our flight's cancellation due to unfavorable weather conditions in the highlands. With the helicopter service also unavailable, we faced the daunting task of arranging alternative transportation. Ultimately, we opted for a five-hour cab ride to Tezpur, where another cab awaited us, ready to continue our journey to Dirang. Exhausted from waiting at the airport since 1 AM the previous night, my wife and I found this new development to be even more taxing and akin to a Himalayan challenge.

As we make our way from Guwahati to Dirang, prepare to be mesmerized by the breathtaking vistas of Arunachal Pradesh. Dirang, located amidst the picturesque Himalayas, is famous for its pristine natural beauty and tranquil surroundings.

Weather: Dirang enjoys a cool climate, so be sure to pack warm clothing.

Travel Tip: Carry motion sickness remedies for the winding roads during the drive

Accommodatio: Hotel Rigsel, Dirang
